I know some of my readers are big Joshua Bell fans, and I love to hear him anytime, too. Anyway, just in case you missed this article about him, here's the link... It's a must-read!

I came across this article a while back on the blog of a NYC subway musician - I thought the different point of view was interesting - www.SawLady.com/blog Personally I always stop to listen to street performers, I think a lot of them are very good.
Hey, Anonymous -- Thanks for posting! That is a really interesting blog (to say nothing of the accompanying music!!) I didn't think of all that (i.e. about the art of busking) when I was reading the Washington Post article about Joshua Bell. I have always loved to listen to street musicians. One of my favorites was a bagpiper in Chicago 2 years ago. Come to think of it, another experience of street musicians that is a vivid memory for me was also a bagpiper, but this one was walking down a completely deserted alleyway in downtown Kansas City back in about 1983.
